I'm finally getting my words on paper! I'm writing a children's book about Normie, the Lake Norman monster. I'm having a little writers block though. I have my basic outline and I written about a third of the book. I know what happens next but just can't seem to find the write words.
Writing a book has always been a dream of mine. It's an odd dream to have for someone who hates to write! I love to be creative though and tell stories. So, I'm trying something new to help my husband. I'll post again when I'm done.

New Basic Grey!
Wow! I'm so excited. Earlier this week, new Bo Bunny. This morning, I wake up to an email stating that Basic Grey has announced two more new lines! I'm drooling over these. They're called Oliver and Olivia and they gorgeous!
Oliver has a mix of denim blue, red, and lighter green. Love it. I don't have a son, but I still want this line. There are some of the papers but I'm not too huge a fan of, but they're double sided! So, if I don't like the first side, I do like the reverse. The look great!
My favorite of the two is Olivia. I love the brighter colors and they will be great for spring and summer layouts. Olivia features pinks, greens, and whites. I love the stripes, plaids, and tiny prints as well as all the flowers. I can't wait to get my hands on this one and the matching embellishments. I'm not usually big on getting a ton of BG embellishments (too expensive), but I'll be biting the bullet because they are just such a perfect compliment. I need this paper!
Happy Scrapping!

Dear Edwina, Zva, and Bo Bunny
First, the good news. Dear Edwina, Jr is over! The shows went so well. I'm so impressed with how the middle schoolers pulled themselves together and put on a great show. I am happy that I was such a big part in it. It's very stressful to stage manage for such young kids. You end up doing so much more then you'd expect. But it's all worth it to see them singing on stage and hearing the talent that my school has. I'm so proud of them and will miss our eighth graders as they move on to high school next year.
I tried out for the Zva Creative design team in April. Unfortunately, I didn't make it on the team. Oh well. I'm still new to trying out and haven't been published anywhere yet. I may try some magazine submissions and see how that goes. Creating Keepsakes has some submissions listed on their website so I may try that in the next couple months.
And now for Bo Bunny news! Wow!!! I just saw the four new lines they have, and I'm blown away. They are amazing! I love all four of them. Their previous release had some great lines but they didn't all wow me. These though, I need all four lines of papers. And the embellishments. I think I finally found the perfect paper to scrapbook Elizabeth's first "Fortune July". I can't wait until they come to scrapbook.com!

It's Here!
This is the big week! We have two more rehearsals left before the final (taped!) dress rehearsal. Thursday we have a show in the morning for the school and then one at 7pm. We have a third and final show on Friday at 7pm. I can't believe it's finally show week! Next weekend, I think I'll be sleeping in a lot. May 1 is National Scrapbook Day and I think I'll be celebrating with online crops because I plan to chill out in my pj's and just relax all weekend. I have so much left to get finished before tomorrow's rehearsal! I have lighting scripts to mark, final props to sort, a wheelbarrow to prep with letters...a lot! I love being the stage manager but it's a lot of work, and I miss seeing Elizabeth every day. I like to play with her and read her bedtime stories, and all that stuff! I hope I can help the director pull all this off. Fingers are crossed and prayers are being said. :)

My Creativity
My creativity seems to be taking a vacation. She popped in for a little while last night and early this afternoon but she's gone again. What's up with that?! I wonder if I'm just tired from spending all my time working on the musical. There are only two more weeks and that's over, so maybe I'll welcome my creativity back then.
In the meantime, Zva Creative is doing a Design Team call. I saw it posted on Scrapbook.com. I made these two layouts as part of my three to submit with my application. I don't have a lot of Zva Creative products so I used some Primas on the second layout. I still need to either create a third layout or choose one that's already in my library.

Busy, Busy
Wow! I feel like I spent most of the day in my scrap room and I only got two layouts done! One I'll share now and the other will have to be tomorrow. I got it done late and want to wait until the sun is shining to photograph it.
Since last summer, I've fallen in love with Basic Grey. There's just something about it that I can't quite put my finger on, but I just love most of what they put out. When I first saw their line Sugar Rush online, I had to have it. I went to Scrap Shack and reserved a pack. When they called that it had arrived I was very excited. This was the first time since discovering my love that I'd been able to get a line when it came out.
I arrived at the store with great anticipation. What a letdown. Sugar Rush didn't seem to capture the love I felt for it online. That didn't stop me from buying the matching buttons (or two different monogram stickers). When I got home, I felt like I had wasted money though. Thirty bucks down the drain. It just sat in its package, neglected as I bought and use other BG lines.
This week though, I've fallen back in love with it. I've done three different layouts with the line and love each one of them more than the last. My favorite was the one I finished today.
I discovered that I only had four hours to upload a picture of a layout for the April Sketch Challenge on scrapbook.com. Yikes! Totally forgot about the deadline for that. (That darn spring break got me relaxing!) I usually think about sketches for a couple hours and figure out what pictures would work best. This one though, I didn't have that luxury. I quickly picked the pictures because the sketch had three and I only had three printed from this theme. No thinking there. Now...what colors...My husband picked out the playpen because of the gender neutral colors. Green and grey - those would match Sugar Rush! I got to work. I finished the layout in about an hour. For me, that's an awesome time.
One thing I really like about this layout is the pink cardstock. It wasn't the perfect match of pink so I decided to paint it a streaky, distressed looking white for the photo border. I wanted to try to capture some of the distressed look of the paper line. What to do with the pink strips and brackets I cut out though. I had the idea to ink the edges. Lucky me happened to have a red, pink, and blue that matched Sugar Rush perfectly!! I just love how I could tie the pink paper into all those different colors. I think it turned out great. What do you think? Please leave me a comment!
Oh...and I did get it uploaded on time for the challenge. The layout I'll upload tomorrow is the sketch challenge for next week. Yay! Done early!

Happy Easter!
What a day! Elizabeth was Little Miss Fussy Pants during Mass today so I took her out first and then Matt took her out. She kept want to throw things, yell, and bang her toys on the pew. We went to Matt's parent's house to celebrate his mom's birthday which is tomorrow. No scrapbooking today unfortunately.
I did sign up for Club CK. I saw an ad for it in the current Creating Keepsakes. What made me sign up was that I'd be able to get into a CK convention and have a free class. That's worth the price right there. Plus, I get access to back issues of magazines and some books online. I'll try it out. Who knows if I'll renew next year.
